What is Google AdWords?
The AdWords program is a service, provided to advertisers, enabling
them to advertise a product/website/service etc. to a target audience.
Advertisers are free to create their own ads and manage their own budgets.
Google does not enforce a minimum fee and you don't pay anything unless
your ad is actually clicked on by a user, which will lead them directly
to your website!
(If you do not have a website Google will help you create
one for free during the signup process!)
How does it work?
When signing up for the AdWords program a wizard will guide you through the
steps of creating your own unique ad and website (if you do not already have one).
When creating your ad you may specify keywords that are related to your product.
If you are unsure about which keywords best describe your product Google can
suggest keywords for you.
These keywords tell Google what your product is related to so that your ad can
be displayed on relevant websites to a potentially interested audience.
After your website and ad has been created you will be taken to a screen where
you can set your budget. Advertisers are not charged a minimum fee per click
and you can even set a daily limit which Google will not exceed.
Furthermore you can specify the country/region within which you want your
ad to be displayed, so you won't have to pay for clicks originating in areas
you do not do business in. You can even define an area that falls within a
certain radius from your office!
You do not need any past experience in web advertising to be able to use
the program!
