What is Google Checkout?
Google Checkout is Google's new, secure online shopping service. Sellers
can integrate Google checkout into their websites and buyers can buy products
securely without the need to provide any credit card information to the seller!
How does it work?
Buyers and sellers need to provide their credit card information only to Google
during the secure sign-up process. Once Google has this information you can
buy or sell products over the internet from any website just by logging into your
Google Checkout account!
During the sign-up process Google will provide sellers with a few simple steps
in order to integrate your new online shopping cart with your website.
Sellers can use the Google Checkout Merchant Center, or their own processing system
to start processing orders immediately after the integration process!
Is it safe?
Google states in their
Privacy Policy that they will not share personal information with anyone
except the financial institutes (banks) that process the transaction.
Since your information is never provided to the seller, nobody can charge you
more than what you agreed to pay. And once the transaction is processed,
Google will not allow the seller to process any other transactions on your
account unless you open another transaction with them.
Google Checkout also has an industry-leading fraud protection program to make
sure you are protected!
